Chamber Music for Pianists

Piano Chamber Music
Chamber Music for Pianists

Our Chamber Music for Piano program is led by Vivian Hornik Weilerstein. The program is open to advanced pianists seeking an intensive course of study focused on instrumental chamber music. This program is separate from our Collaborative Piano major, which develops artistry in both instrumental and vocal chamber music. Successful applicants in Chamber Music for Piano must already have significant experience in chamber repertoire and performance.

NEC offers two-year programs in Chamber Music for Piano leading to the Master of Music degree or Graduate Diploma, and further study leading to the Doctor of Musical Arts is also available. MM and GD students participate in six chamber ensembles over the course of four semesters, with each ensemble coached one hour per week. Students receive weekly individual studio instruction with Ms. Hornik Weilerstein plus two semesters of individual coaching with another faculty member. Students perform frequently in recitals, masterclasses, and outreach performances.

We'll be accepting applications for Fall 2024 in early September. For any inquiries, please reach out to Vivian Weilerstein.
