40 Years of NEC's
Contemporary Improvisation

The possibilities are endless as New England Conservatory celebrates the 40th anniversary of its groundbreaking Contemporary Improvisation (CI) program with a year of concerts and events in Boston and New York.

Currently led by Hankus Netsky, and founded in 1972 by musical visionaries Gunther Schuller and Ran Blake, the CI program trains creative musicians to broaden their musical palettes and develop unique voices as composer/ performer/ improvisers.
