Flutist Jacqueline DeVoe is an active freelancer in the greater Boston area and performs regularly with Cantata Singers, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Emmanuel Music and many other ensembles. In addition to her her studies at New England Conservatory, she was a two-time recipient of the Frank Huntington Beebe Fund grant and completed a diploma at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, Austria. A Tanglewood Fellow, Ms. DeVoe is the former principal flutist of the Mexico City Philharmonic, has performed with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and has been presented in solo and chamber music concerts in Europe, Mexico and the US. In addition to her private flute studio, she is on the faculty of New England Conservatory Preparatory School. A strong advocate of music education in public schools, Ms. DeVoe is a member of North Winds, the Young Audiences’ woodwind quintet which presents educational concerts in schools throughout Massachusetts. During the past two seasons, she played educational outreach programs for the Nashua Symphony in all of the Nashua and Brookline elementary schools, first with the North Winds Quintet and this past March with harpist Virginia Crumb. She was involved as an “Artist Teacher” in the pilot program through Young Audiences and NPR’s From the Top, which brings gifted young artists into public schools.
