Ahn named "Best Principal Actor in a Musical"

Julius Ahn in Stuck ElevatorThe San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle (SFBATCC) has named tenor Julius Ahn '08 "Best Principal Actor in a Musical" for the year 2013 in its annual awards, presented May 5, 2014. Ahn starred in the American Conservatory Theatre production of Stuck Elevator, which also received awards for "Best Original Musical," with music by Byron Au Yong and libretto by Aaron Jafferis.

Ahn was prominently and memorably cast in NEC mainstage opera productions during his time at NEC, and has continued to perform roles in Boston productions along with his more far-flung appearances.

SFBATCC, active since the 1970s, is an association of arts writers dedicated to promoting live theatres of all types and sizes throughout the greater Bay Area by recognizing excellence and outstanding achievement. Annual awards are presented in various competitive categories for locally produced theatre, plus individual awards for special achievement.
