Private instruction is the foundation of a sound musical education. At NEC Prep, the depth and expertise of our faculty assure a great match for our students' individual needs. A unique feature of our private lesson program is that it includes the opportunity to participate in workshops, recitals, and evaluations, which offer every student valuable performance experience and feedback from a variety of teachers.
Private lessons of 30, 45, and 60 minutes are offered in all the categories listed under faculty, including music theory, composition, and conducting. Prospective students must set up an audition or placement interview with the department chair, who will advise each student personally regarding an appropriate studio teacher placement. Auditions can be scheduled by calling 617-585-1131 or e-mailing prep@necmusic.edu.
