This small ensemble is open by audition to beginning string and wind players. This ensemble specializes in music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods by composers such as Susato, Attaignant, and Purcell. While ensemble assignments are made by level, not age, most members are in grades 3-9.
Baroque Ensembles range in size and offer a more intimate study than the larger orchestras. These chamber music size groups allow for one or just a few player(s) per part. This smaller group setting allows students to develop chamber music skills learning to listen to each other.
Rehearsals: Saturday, 3-4pm

Absence Requests
Please submit an Absence Request Form to Lisa Husseini, Concert Ensemble Manager. Requests need to be submitted at least two weeks before the date of absence. We urge you to submit requests as soon as you know about them so that there is plenty of time for them to be approved. All absences must be approved by the NEC Prep Office, prior to the absence date.
