Meet the Sistema Fellows
The first two sets of graduates of the Sistema Fellows Program at New England Conservatory (previously called Abreu Fellows)—the classes of 2010 and 2011—are now developing El Sistema–inspired programs throughout the United States. The Class of 2012 is on the verge of following in their footsteps.
NEC has now welcomed 10 more participants in the program: the Class of 2013, who enter in the fall. These gifted young musicians, passionate about their art and social change, will take part in an intensive schedule of seminars and practicums, culminating in a residency in Venezuela, where they will observe and participate in that country's 35-year-old El Sistema program—the original on which they will model their own work.
Follow the links on this page to find bios for the fourth class of Sistema Fellows, who will complete the program in 2013.
