Open by audition to intermediate string players. Students placed in SRO play
with fluency and clarity, and are comfortable playing three-octave scales.
While orchestral assignments are made by level, not age, most members of
SRO are in grades 7-10.

Fall Seating Auditions (for members only)
Seating Auditions: September 8-9, 2012
Seating auditions are 7 minutes long and can be scheduled after August 15, by logging into your account at online
Seating audition requirements: Prepare two solo works or two movements from the same work that represent contrasting styles. This usually means a fast, technical piece and a slower, more lyrical piece. There will be some sight-reading during the audition as well.
Absence Requests
Please submit an Absence Request Form to Lisa Fujita, SRO Student Manager or Lisa Husseini, Concert Ensemble Manager. Requests need to be submitted at least two weeks before the date of absence. We urge you to submit requests as soon as you know about them so that there is plenty of time for them to be approved. All absences must be approved by the NEC Prep Office, prior to the absence date.
You may submit it in using one of the following methods:
- Print and hand deliver to the Prep Office at 241 St. Botolph Street, Room SB 120.
