Students, colleagues, and music loving friends, understandably concerned by Distinguished Artist-in-Residence Russell Sherman’s last minute cancellation of his recital Sunday evening (September 29), will want to know that the 83-year old pianist had a fall in his home Sunday afternoon. The accident resulted in a hip fracture, according to his wife Wha-Kyung Byun.  Sherman was undergoing surgery to repair the injury on Monday (September 30) afternoon. The Shermans have complete confidence in their surgeon and are optimistic that he will make a full recovery.
