LaTasha Barnes' The Jazz Continuum centers the prolifc artistry of Jazz music and dance as a cornerstone of Black American culture. Featuring an intergenerational cast of Black dancers and musicians, The Jazz Continuum celebrates the joy and sacred power of the Black experience. Reaching back nearly 100 years, the Bessie Award-winner makes visible connections between the past and today's Black dance expressions: House dance, Hip-Hop, and more. In facilitating the cast's exploration into their relationships to the Jazz lineage, the work shines with mind-bending musicality and athleticism.
