Recital: Evren Ozel '23 MM, Piano

NEC: Williams Hall | Directions

290 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA
United States

NEC's students meet one-on-one each week with a faculty artist to perfect their craft. As each one leaves NEC to make their mark in the performance world, they present a full, professional recital that is free and open to the public. It's your first look at the artists of tomorrow.

Evren Ozel '23 MM studies Piano with Wha Kyung Byun and is the recipient of scholarships made possible by the Bertha L. Harris Endowed Scholarship Fund, the Josephine L. Murray Scholarship Fund, and the Saj-nicole A. Joni and Marya Weinstock Endowed Scholarship Fund in Honor of Veronica Jochum.

    With this program tonight,
I share my gratitude to all of you in the audience, both in person and online.

Thank you to all my friends and colleagues,
for continually setting the bar higher, yet at the same time helping to foster this incredibly supportive environment we have at NEC.

    Thank you to Nan Ni,
for bringing me to balance and sanity in a world full of chaos.

Thank you to my whole family,
who have cheered me on since starting piano at age 3,
and specifically to my parents — Burcin Ozel and Tadeusz Majewski — for showing me the power, necessity, and freedom of honesty.

Thank you to my dear teacher, Wha Kyung Byun,
for guiding me to the fountains of inspiration, curiosity, and hope.
