In this piece, he used many different skills such as rim shot, “press for making a very short buzz”, and “hold left stick pointed on the skin and rub the stick to and fro with the right stick”.

  6. Alexej Gerassimez | Piazonore (2014)

    Program note

Alexej Gerassimez is a German percussionist and composer. Piazonore is form of tribute to the legendary composer Astor Piazzolla, particularly to his very familiar Libertango. Originally intended as an arrangement of Libertango, the piece evolved away from this primary aim into improvising and restructuring the material. Piazonore is the result and no longer bears a clear resemblance to a “tango”.
