New England Conservatory is pleased to announce the appointment of John Spinard as Chief Administrative and Financial Officer. Bringing 35 years of experience in financial and strategic planning in higher education and corporate sectors, Spinard will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, driving organizational improvements and propelling one of the country's leading conservatories into the future.

“As we look forward to the exciting work and opportunities ahead, we are delighted to benefit from John's experience and proven skills in financial and administrative oversight,” said NEC President, Andrea Kalyn.

Spinard comes to NEC from Cambridge College, where he has served as Chief Financial Officer since 2014. While there, he oversaw all financial and administrative operations, led the acquisition of New England College of Business, restructured Student Financial Services to greater efficiency and service, directed a campus-wide digitization process, created an Office of Grants and Contracts, and worked closely with the provost to establish new international partnerships.

Prior to Cambridge College, Spinard served in multiple leadership roles at leading educational institutions, including Vice President for Administration and Finance at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, and management roles at Boston College and Tufts University, where he was instrumental in designing and implementing both financial and strategic planning processes.
