A New Year’s Greeting from President Andrea Kalyn

Happy New Year!

I am delighted and honoured to be here in Boston at last, and most especially, to be part of the NEC community. I very much look forward to meeting you in the coming year, both on campus and as I travel on behalf of NEC.

New England Conservatory is a place of great quality and high artistry, of curiosity and creativity, of imagination and inspiration. It is a place where tradition and innovation intersect in dynamic ways to great impact. It is a place where our belief in the power of music to shape lives is manifested in the children who have the opportunity to play here as part of our Prep program, in our college students who become the alumni who are shaping the very future of music, and in our audiences who share with us the joy and community found in music. There is an incredible history and tradition in these past 151 years of NEC, and we are just getting started.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible community, and thank you for welcoming me so warmly into it. I wish you the happiest of new years, and look forward to working with you to build the future of NEC together!
