Private Lessons

Faculty Directory: Harp

Private instruction is the foundation of a sound musical education. At NEC Prep, the depth and expertise of our faculty assure a great match for our students' individual needs. Private lessons of 30, 45, and 60 minutes are offered for students of all levels (including beginners!).

A unique feature of our private lesson program is that it includes the opportunity to participate in evaluations and our annual concerto competition, which offer every student valuable performance experience and feedback from a variety of teachers. Harpists enrolled in private lessons are eligible to participate in the string department's biweekly workshop and recitals program.

Harp Ensemble

Franziska Huhn, Instructor

Harp Ensemble explores different repertoire from original harp ensemble music to transcriptions, from Baroque to contemporary music. Students will learn how to precisely listen to each other, connect with each other musically, and how to work as a group. The focus is on pedal harps. Lever harps are welcome, but students will need to bring their own instruments. Parts will be tailored to the level of the student and cooperation with the private lesson teacher is highly encouraged. Students must have studied harp privately for at least one year.

Rehearsals: Saturday, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM
