Workshops/Recitals
The Preparatory School workshop/recital system offers students valuable performance experience and a wide range of viewpoints through direct feedback from various instructors. Students are recommended by their private lesson teacher to participate in group workshops. Students participating in workshops will play for a member of the faculty who is not their private instructor and will receive written feedback following the workshop.
NEC Prep student recitals are scheduled on Saturdays throughout the year. These are free and open to the public. Students are recommended for recital programs based on their performance in workshops. Students must be registered for a minimum of 24 private lessons per year in order to participate in NEC Prep workshops and recitals.

End of the Year Recitals
In addition to group recitals, students who are registered for a minimum of 24 private lessons per year are also encouraged to perform solo recitals (end of the year recitals). Students may perform half or full recitals and may share their recital with another Prep student. All performances must be approved by the student's private instructor. These recitals can be scheduled by using the Recital Request Form below.
