Join current NEC undergraduates and students from other universities in experiencing NEC's vibrant community while earning credit towards your degree. With a flexible schedule and a variety of courses, you'll have the opportunity to choose the classes that fit your interests and schedule.

July 16 – 30, 2023: NEC Summer Orchestra Institute (SOI) is a two-week full symphony orchestra program open to intermediate to advanced-level strings, brass, winds, and percussion between the ages of 13-18.
Priority deadline: March 1.
Rolling applications accepted through April.
July 10 – August 4, 2023: Morningside Music Bridge brings together outstanding young violin, viola, cello, and piano musicians ages 12-18 from around the globe for a month of intensive music-making on the NEC campus, including extensive solo, chamber music, and string orchestra performance opportunities.
Apply by January 15.
Silkroad's Global Musician Workshop
August 6 – 12, 2023: Led by Contemporary Musical Arts (CMA) faculty member Mike Block and alumna Wu Man, Silkroad's Global Musician Workshop is for musicians 18+ from any musical background — university students, professional and amateur performers, teachers, and teaching artists — with backgrounds in classical, jazz, folk, and traditional styles.
Tuition is free for all accepted musicians, with additional financial aid available for room and board if needed.
Instructors will include NEC Contemporary Musical Arts faculty Hankus Netsky and Balla Kouyaté.
