Tuesday Night New Music is a student-run, faculty-supervised concert series directed by Brooks Clarke ’22 MM under the supervision of composition chair Michael Gandolfi.
Cogan, a music theorist, composer, and educator, was a member of NEC's Composition and Music Theory faculty for nearly 60 years—including many years as Chair of Graduate Music Theory—and his legacy will continue for many years to come.
The works in this concert were written during the 2021 spring semester as part of the Graduate Composition Seminar, which took place online because of Covid restrictions.
In his remarks, Robbie celebrated a year of music from under-represented composers, and envisioned a future of music made richer and more expansive through diverse musical ideas.
