Youth Chorale & Camerata

Youth Chorale is open to advanced SATB singers, grades 9–12. Entrance is by audition only. Once students have been accepted in to the Youth Chorale, they can audition in the fall for placement in Youth Camerata, a highly advanced ensemble comprised of SATB singers who are members of the Youth Chorale.

Chorale Rehearsals: Saturday, 3:00 – 4:30 PM in Pierce Hall

Camerata Rehearsals: Saturday, 4:45 - 5:45 PM in Pierce Hall

First Rehearsal: September 15, 2012

Fall Audition Information

Fall auditions will be held September 8, 2012.

New Students can sign up for an audition by calling 617-585-1130.

Current Members can sign up for their fall auditions online.

Audition Requirements: Students should prepare two pieces. One piece should be in english and the second piece should be in a foreign language. Please bring an extra copy of your piano part if needed. Accompanists will be provided for the audition.

Absence Requests

Please submit an Absence Request Form to Rebecca Wright, StudentChorus Manager or Lisa Husseini, Concert Ensemble Manager. Requests need to be submitted at least two weeks before the date of absence. We urge you to submit requests as soon as you know about them so that there is plenty of time for them to be approved. All absences must be approved by the NEC Prep Office, prior to the absence date.

You may submit it in using one of the following methods:

• Print and hand deliver to the Prep Office at 241 St. Botolph Street, Room SB 120.

• Scan and e-mail to Rebecca Wright, StudentChorus Manager

• Fax your form to (617) 585-1135 attn: Youth Chorale

• Mail to: NEC Preparatory School attn: Youth Chorale, 290, Huntington Avenue, Boston MA 02115-5018

You may also email a letter of request to Youth Chorale student manager,Rebecca Wright.

NOTE: You will receive an email from the Youth Chorale manager when your absence has been approved.
