An Evening of Music in Boston: Walnut Hill + NEC

NEC: Brown Hall | Directions

290 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA
United States

Walnut Hill School for the Arts, in partnership with New England Conservatory, is proud to present this special evening in Boston featuring 100 students, faculty and staff.

The new Walnut Hill String Orchestra performs Elgar with special guests, the Parker String Quartet (including Walnut Hill alum, cellist Kee-Hyun Kim '01). Conductor Erica J. Washburn, Director of Choral Activities at NEC, also joins for a performance of her own version of Craig Hella Johnson's "Considering Matthew Shepard." This epic work has received nationwide attention for its dramatic and affecting reflection on the 1998 brutal murder of a young, gay man in Wyoming that led to an ongoing national conversation.
