Zephyr Woodwind Quintet: NEC Honors Ensemble

NEC: Jordan Hall | Directions

290 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA
United States

Each year, an audition committee of professional musicians and faculty selects a few exceptional student ensembles to represent the NEC Honors Ensemble Program. The ensembles work with a faculty coach and are given an opportunity to perform a spring recital in NEC's Jordan Hall.

Formed in the fall of 2022, the Zephyr Woodwind Quintet consists of Yechan Min (flute), Sojeong Kim (oboe), Hyunwoo Chun (clarinet), Andy Brooks (bassoon), and Yeonjo Oh (horn). Previous schools they have attended consists of Yonsei University, Kyung Hee University, and University of North Texas. The group was selected as a winner of the New England Conservatory’s 2022-2023 Honors Ensemble Competition. As the honors woodwind quintet, they have gotten the opportunity to play throughout the city for the Boston community as well as giving a full concert in Boston’s historic Jordan hall. The group is very fortunate to have Boston Symphony’s Rachel Childers as their coach.

This is an in-person event with a public live stream.
